Dr. Matthew Petrie was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was elected into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. He attended medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. Dr. Matthew Petrie performed his internship at Wake Forest University Hospital before he completed his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He remained in Philadelphia to complete a Mohs micrographic surgery / procedural dermatology fellowship at the Dermatologic SurgiCenter.
Dr. Matthew Petrie is board certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. In addition, he is a fellowship trained Mohs micrographic & reconstructive surgeon and is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Matthew Petrie has published articles in dermatologic surgery / Mohs surgery publications.
Dr. Petrie is practices medical and surgical dermatology, with a specialty in the surgical treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Petrie lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Julie, who is a dentist, and 3 young sons. He enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, swimming, running, reading, eating, and traveling.
